Since 2012, we have been annually visiting this unique fishery with hosted groups. COVID stopped us in 2020 and 2021 which is going to make our 2024 trip all the more epic. It is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best wild trophy rainbow trout fishery in the world and we can’t wait to to show it to you!
TRIP OVERVIEW
Estancia Laguna Verde is the finest and most complete lodge operation on the world-famous Jurassic Lake (Lake Strobel). Located on the southern coast of this huge Argentine lake, the Estancia offers fishermen the chance to experience some of the largest rainbow trout in the world as well as beautiful, rugged and untouched landscapes in one of the most remote areas of Patagonia. In a part of Patagonia that is considered very distant and removed, this is far and away the finest option for great guides, huge fish, and very comfortable amenities.

Nick Reygaert is the founder of Gin-Clear Travel. He has carved out a career as a celebrated fly fishing film maker for the last 20 years during which time he has traveled extensively in pursuit of the world's best fly fishing. Nick has been traveling to South America since he first filmed Trout Bum Diaries - Patagonia in 2002! It was during that trip that the whispers of a trophy rainbow trout lake, high in the foothills of the Andes, first emerged. But Nick and his team were unable to locate the mysterious lake. Eight years later, Nick returned and finally got to fish the legendary Jurassic Lake, having the privilege to now share this unique place with hosted groups is a dream come true.
Itinarary
Day 0 : (Oct 25th) Fly to Buenos Aires, gather at airport and catch transfer to hotel
Day 1 : (Oct 26th) Transfer as a group to domestic airport, fly to El Calafate, transfer by car to lodge (5 hours)
Day 2 - Day 8 : (Oct 27th - Nov 1st) Full days guided fishing
Day 9 : (Nov 2nd) Transfer to El Calafate airport, fly to Buenos Aires, stay in hotel (or carry onto Brook Trout Fishing)
Day 10 : (Nov 3rd) Fly from Buenos Aires
RATES
7 nights / 6 days fishing = $7,500 (USD) per person sharing
